About the Site About the Work About the Girl
About the Website:
therehastobeaclassforthis.com started out as just website for me to play around with, and I had no real intentions of using it for anything more than fun. When I started high school however, I found a growing need for having an online portfolio, and that is what this site turned into. Recently, I have begun to sell the various goods I make, and for that reason I turned this site into a place where people could view my creations and also purchase and place orders. I code this website myself, as well as make all the graphics that go up on it.

About the Work:
This all started a long time ago with some embroidery floss and myself, doing what just about every girl did at my summer camp: making bracelets. Now if that was all it amounted to, I'd probably not be doing what I'm doing now. No, it turned out that I had a knack for make the bracelets, and the better I got and more patterns I learned and came up with, the more people wanted me to make one for them. For a whole Summer I made bracelets nonstop, and when the Fall rolled around, I continued making jewelry, though I started to expand my repertoire. Now I take all sorts of items and turn them into jewelry: soda pop tabs into bracelets, bottle caps into earrings, the possibilities are endless. I've even gone beyond jewelry, knitting hats and sewing headbands, even making bags from ties and recycled shorts, jeans, and skirts. The supplies I use to make my items cycle between new and recycled products, and I am always trying something new. I put effort into everything I make, always looking to improve and keep everything to a high standard. My items tend to be unique, often meant to draw attention, hence the name 'I AM HERE'.
About the Girl:
My name is Alexandria, and I also answer to Xandria. I'm a seventeen-year-old student. Art of all types has been a part of my life since I was a kid. If it's not art or writing with me, then it's languages, animals, and activism. I hope to study American Sign Language Interpreting in college as well as Creative Writing. I have been making my own jewelry and accessories for more than four years, and have been selling my creations for about two years now.
